Box + Pixel is led by Brian Gunzenhauser, a technical strategist, educator, and senior developer who builds websites and keeps them running for designers, agencies, and the businesses that depend on them.

Meet Brian
Brian has been working on the web since 2003, with clients including Dansko and Armstrong World Industries, and has been recognized with a Communication Arts Web Pick of the Day on two separate occasions. He started Box + Pixel in 2011, while teaching at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. In 2020, Box + Pixel became his full-time focus.
Development is Brian's core, with hands-on experience in design, user experience, marketing and analytics, content strategy, and project, account, and team management. That range means that a site gets seen through many lenses, and every stakeholder's view is considered.
And the teaching never stopped. Alongside client work, Brian leads technology facilitation and digital transformation sessions with Decoded for teams at IBM, Mastercard, the Royal Bank of Canada, and HSBC.

What's in a name?
“Web pages are made up of boxes and pixels. Those are your visual constraints. How creative you are within them is up to you. Nearly anything you can think of is possible.”
Brian kept saying it while teaching students how to style pages and think about web architecture. The studio is named after it.
